How to get there - Car park on riverside frontage in Huntingdon (B1514)

Get a map with driving directions to start or end (enter the postcode of your starting point at A)

Suggested Launch Site - Short carry across grass to river.

General Description - 6 miles with two locks; or if depending on public transport to return to start, add 2 miles for turning round at Holywell to get back to St Ives. See link for bus timetable. If you are able to use two cars the Old Ferry Boat Inn (the oldest pub in England) is an ideal place to finish (parking with permission of course). For those with SatNav the postcode is PE27 4TR.

Refreshments at Houghton Mill (NT), St Ives, and various other places. St Ives has an August Bank Holiday Boat Festival

A wide flood plain leading to the fens. The Great Ouse breaks up into many braided streams in this stretch, with backwaters to explore. Beware of some weirs at side of main river which have little warning.
