Suggested Launch Site - The Globe Inn has a large car park but if you're not a customer there is parking on the oposite side of the canal. For a slightly longer trip there is canal side parking on the Old Linslade Road (GR 908267) or longer still the picnic site at the top of the three locks (GR 892283).

All of these sites have easy launches into the canal.

General Description - Easy canal paddling, my favourite launch is the Old Linslade site which lets me paddle lock free up to the three locks and then back past the launch site down to the first lock before returning to the car.

However for this trip we launched opposite the Globe Inn and paddled to the Grove Public House approx 2.5 miles each way with 1 lock to Portage. the route took us through the centre of Leighton Buzzard where we stopped to buy Bacon rolls at the van in Tesco's car park. We also stopped off for a brew at tiddenfoot water park on the west bank just to the south of Leighton Buzzard. launching at Old Linslade adds about 1.5 miles to the total trip and launching at Three Locks would be about 10 miles for the return journey still with just the 1 lock to portage. There is also a pub at the three locks.
