Shropshire - Llangollen Canal - Ellesmere to Franklin

How to get there - Ellesmere is at the junction of the A528 and the A495 about 5 miles east of the border between England and Wales. The put in is at the end of Wharf Road.

For those with SatNav the postcode is SY120EL.

Get a map with driving directions to start or end (enter the postcode of your starting point at A)

Suggested Launch Site - Launch into the Canal at the end of Wharf Road. There is short term parking here while you unload but you are then best to park elsewhere in Ellesmere - A suggestion is the long term car park in Cross Street (For those with SatNav the postcode is SY12 0AW.) To get there reverse your route allong Wharf Road, turn right into Scotland Street and then straight accross into Cross Street.

General Description - This is a lock free trip of three and a half miles through quiet shropshire countryside to the Junction with the Montgomery Canal at Frankton Junction. You can either end the trip there where there is a small car park (postcode SY11 4PB) or return to the start for a longer trip.
