Suggested Launch Site - Launch over the bank.

General Description - Head east (downstream) on the River Yare for three miles to Brundall where boatyards and riverside development begin in earnest on the left bank. The river turns south and after half a mile you will see an entrance to Surlingham Broad on the right. Continue a few hundred yards to the Coldham Hall Pub currently being refurbished but due to reopen in early 2010.

Retrace your steps back to the entrance to Surlingham Broad and turn left to enter a different world. Surlingham Broad is the name given to a series of shallow waterways, both large and small. You may have to share the largest one with motor cruisers but venture a little further and you will be on your own. See the link for details.

When you have explored enough leave by the other exit (see map) and rejoin the River Yare to return to the start.

The trip is seven miles plus whatever you add for exploring.
